now I don't know what to tell you AMD guys, if someone knows away to make this work please post it.īut for those of you using Nvidia GPUs :

So getting a bit ticked that this wasn't working I started experimenting with head tracking only- my thinking was maybe I could accomplish some basic head tracking with a phone strapped to my headphones - transmitting the Gyro/Accelerometer data into OpenTrack on my PC - this actually works pretty well. (VR Streamer) - This look really promising- it worked better than the above two - But still- lag, frustrating UI and instabilities killed it for me. laggy :/ - The built in head tracking doesn't work- you have to use OpenTrack either way. (Kino Console) - I read a few reports that this had really low latency, nope - Similar results using USB and Wifi.

(Trinius Gyre) - Has lots of good reviews - App crashes - Server crashes, - Streaming is slow ~20 fps even at the lowest resolution options - Admittedly I didn't buy this, I used the Lite app- but I just couldn't justify it given the experience I had upfront. these all "work" but just don't deliver the immersion we're all looking for IMHO: I've messed with the following apps/servers (excluding a few that were just completely useless). Regardless I tried my best with all of these to use USB tethering- it works sometimes but in a few cases I fell back to my AC Wifi / Gigabit LAN.

Wireless AC is cool but I imagine N or even G would probably suffice for 1080p streaming. only complaint is the nose bridge being a bit small, I glued some foam in and it's solved.īack to the Nexus 6P - 1440p is a great resolution for VR. Which works fantastically- it fits my Nexus 6P- perfectly, has some basic IPD and focal distance adjustment. I had a Google Cardboard originally with some silly elastic straps- it wasn't something you could use for more than 5 minute, to many rough edges. So I've spent probably 20 hours messing around with VR on my phone.

the display made ED look like a N64 game any target beyond 2km was next to impossible to see, even when actively targeted. The head tracking on the Occulus was fantastic but that was about it. I've been itching to try this out with a phone now that I have one that can do it (Nexus 6P).

So i had a Occulus DK2 this summer- I used it for a bit but it wasn't great with ED at the time- text was way to hard to read, and the SDE (Screen door effect) was almost unbearable. Warning up front- if you have a AMD card I'm sorry this probably doesn't apply to you :(
